A Prophetic Warning by David Wilkerson on The Seeker Friendly Movement

I always enjoyed the preaching of the late Rev. David Wilkerson.  This man knew how to preach sin and redemption.

Another thing I always liked about him was that when he was prophetic, he was spot on correct.  Not like fools who try to pick dates, Rev. Wilkerson was given insights by God which have proven to be 100% correct.

Here is a You Tube video of his prophetic warning about the seeker friendly movement. While he preached this just as it was starting up, his warnings about it are all too true today.

We need more men and women like Rev. Wilkerson was.  I know he has found his reward with the Lord.

Shhh don’t talk about hell….

Jesus taught on hell, and He did so to warn people not to go there. Hell is depicted in Scripture as a very nasty place from which there is no escape. The punishment of the wicked dead in hell is described throughout Scripture as “eternal fire” (Matthew 25:41), “unquenchable fire” (Matthew 3:12), “shame and everlasting contempt” (Daniel 12:2), a place where “the fire is not quenched” (Mark 9:44-49), a place of “torment” and “fire” (Luke 16:23-24), a place where “the smoke of torment rises forever and ever” (Revelation 14:10-11), and a “lake of burning sulfur” where the wicked are “tormented day and night forever and ever” (Revelation 20:10). Surely, a loving and compassionate Savior could not be so described if He failed to warn us about hell. But Jesus is certainly loving and compassionate, and He presented the joys and bliss of heaven and was clear about the only way to attain them. “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life,” He said. “No one comes to the Father but through me” (John 14:6). The apostle Paul was equally blunt about the fate of those who rejected the gospel of salvation through Christ alone. They are condemned to “everlasting destruction” (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9). Biblegateway and the Emerging Church

It was with great sadness that I read the following article today on the Lighthouse Trails newsletter:

Biblegateway Teaches Readers “Lectio Divina” – a Dangerous Gateway to a New Spiritual Outlook
Biblegateway, “an online searchable Bible in dozens of versions and languages” is one of the most popular websites on the Internet today, ranking in the top 1000 sites in the world. Over 48,000 websites link to or recommend Biblegateway. Needless to say, their reach is substantial. Thus, it is with dismay to report that on their official blog this past September, Biblegateway introduced their readers to the contemplative practice of Lectio Divina in an article written by Brian Hardin called “Lectio Divina: Diving Reading.” Continue reading
